Day of Giving 2017

Integrative Flavors’® team joined a group of volunteers on Earth Day for the 1st Annual LCN Day of Giving. The group worked at both the emergency shelter and transitional housing locations of Stepping Stone, an organization that serves Laporte County’s families affected by domestic violence and sexual assault.  The grounds were beautified with landscaping projects, painting and minor repairs. Integrative Flavors® also donated Cook’s Delight® Soup Base to the organization.

Food Insecurity

The state of being without reliable access to a sufficient quantity of affordable, nutritious food. More than 800 million people live every day with hunger or food insecurity as their constant companion. (Oxford Dictionaries)

In the United States, 48.1 million Americans live in food insecure households according to Feeding America. Locally, 1 in 7 residents of Indiana struggles with hunger.

Integrative Flavors’ Community Giveback

At Integrative Flavors, our team is passionate about doing our part in the fight against food insecurity and hunger. Our products, Cook’s Delight® soup bases and flavor concentrates, lend themselves well to providing the foundation for a delicious and cost effective way to feed people.

For the past several years, the Integrative Flavors’ team has volunteered their time to produce and package soup base and flavor concentrates as donations to local soup kitchens and food pantries.  These donations have resulted in enough soup base to make over 21,000 gallons of soup stock or 340,000 individual bowls of soup. We plan to continue this service and would like to expand our partnership with local and regional soup kitchens. Join us for a look at our 2015 Integrative Flavors’ Giveback Day and meet some of our team and learn what it means to them.

How to Make Soup Stock

In the most basic form, soup base and flavor concentrates can be mixed with hot water to provide a soup stock that can be used in a wide variety of recipes. View this video for a quick tutorial on how to make soup stock. How to make Chicken Soup Stock Video.

Recipes Using Cook’s Delight® Soup Base and Flavor Concentrates

From the soup stock, you can make a simple and economical dish by adding vegetables, pasta, rice and beans. Explore our foodservice recipes to add to your library.

Soup bases and flavor concentrates are so versatile they can be used in many recipes to extend flavor. You can reduce the amount of meat called for in a recipe by adding soup base and feed more people while varying your menu. For suggestions on other uses see our Cook’s Delight® Taste Lifts™.
