Non-GMO Soup Bases and Flavor Concentrates

Are you looking to satisfy growing consumer demand for non-GMO offerings in your food products or foodservice menu?

Industry analysts predict the non-GMO foods could represent 30% of the market by 2015—or 40% if GMO labeling takes hold, says Food Navigator. When it comes to defining ingredients: A non-GMO plant-based ingredient uses no genetically modified crops. A non-GMO animal ingredient, such as meat or dairy, comes from animals that have never been fed genetically modified feed.

About 94% of soy, 90% of canola, and 88% of corn grown in the U.S. is genetically modified, reports the Non-GMO Project. This means that ingredients such as oils, lecithin, soy protein isolate, corn syrup, cornstarch, poultry or meat products, and many more are undergoing scrutiny in the marketplace in response to consumer demand.
